Rental Terms

Rental policy

Plain-English terms for our DFW traffic-control rentals — daily, weekly, and monthly periods, delivery and pickup, crew setup, damage, and cancellations.

Daily

1–6 day jobs. Billed per calendar day, minimum one day. Best for short utility cuts, surveys, and emergency closures.

Weekly

7 calendar days. Roughly 3× the daily rate — the most common rental window for street and lane-closure work.

Monthly

28 calendar days. Roughly 3× the weekly rate. Standard for long-duration construction, paving, and bridge projects.

1. Rental periods & billing

  • Start of period. Billing begins the day equipment leaves our yard or is delivered to your site, whichever is first.
  • End of period. Billing stops the day equipment is picked up by our crew or returned to our DFW yard during business hours (Mon–Fri 7 AM – 5 PM).
  • Partial days. Any partial day at the end of a billing window rounds up to the next full day. Weekends and federal holidays count as rental days.
  • Extensions. Need to keep equipment longer? Call or email at least 24 hours before pickup and we'll roll the rental forward at the prorated daily / weekly / monthly rate.
  • Minimum charge. One-day minimum on all line items. Drum, cone, and sign rentals under 25 units are subject to a small-order minimum.

2. Delivery & pickup

  • Local DFW delivery. We deliver across Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, and Rockwall counties. Trip charge is quoted per round trip and is typically waived on weekly and monthly rentals over a minimum order size.
  • Lead time. Standard delivery is next business day for orders confirmed by 3 PM. Same-day delivery is available based on truck and yard availability — call to confirm.
  • Site access. Customer is responsible for providing safe, legal site access for our trucks (clearance, surface, and authorization to enter). Wait time over 30 minutes on site is billed at our standby rate.
  • After-hours & weekends. Available with advance notice; billed at the after-hours trip rate.
  • Outside DFW. Jobs beyond the metroplex (East Texas, Waco, Tyler, Sherman, etc.) are quoted by the mile in addition to the standard trip charge.
  • Pickup. Notify us 24 hours before you want equipment picked up. Equipment left on site without a pickup request continues to accrue rental charges.

3. Crew setup & removal

  • Self-setup. All rental equipment may be picked up or delivered for customer setup. Customer is responsible for MUTCD-compliant placement, signage, and Texas MUTCD / TMUTCD conformance.
  • Crewed setup. Our certified flagging and traffic-control crews can deploy and tear down per your approved Traffic Control Plan (TCP). Setup is billed by the hour, per technician, with a 4-hour minimum and standard travel charge.
  • Engineered TCP. Need a stamped Traffic Control Plan for a TxDOT, city, or county permit? We coordinate plan production with our engineering partners — quoted separately from rental.
  • Maintenance of traffic. Optional drive-by checks (cones reset, signs replaced, board batteries swapped) available daily or weekly per the project schedule.

4. Customer responsibility, damage & loss

  • Care & custody. Customer is responsible for equipment from the moment it is delivered or picked up until it is returned to our yard or recovered by our crew.
  • Normal wear. Scuffs, faded paint, and minor sheeting wear from normal jobsite use are expected and not chargeable.
  • Damage beyond normal wear. Cracked panels, broken legs, struck arrow boards, vandalized VMS — billed at documented repair cost up to the unit's published replacement value.
  • Lost or stolen equipment. Billed at full replacement value per our current rate sheet. A police report is required for any theft claim.
  • Insurance. Customer should add rented equipment to their project general liability or builder's risk policy. Certificates of insurance available on request.

5. Cancellation & changes

  • 48+ hours before delivery. Cancel or reschedule for free. Any deposit is fully refunded.
  • Inside 48 hours. A restocking + dispatch fee equal to one day's rental plus the round-trip charge applies.
  • Loaded or in transit. If our truck is already loaded or has dispatched, that day's rental and the trip charge are non-refundable.
  • Weather holds. Texas storms happen. Active jobs paused for severe weather can be put on a no-charge "weather hold" with prior notice — equipment stays on site, billing pauses.
  • Quantity reductions. Returning surplus units mid-rental is welcome; billing on those units stops the day they hit our yard.

6. Payment terms

  • New customers. First job is prepay or COD. Once an account is opened (credit application + trade references), we offer Net 30.
  • Open accounts. Net 30 from invoice date. Past-due balances accrue 1.5% per month (18% APR) per Texas commercial billing practice.
  • Accepted payment. ACH, wire, business check, and major credit cards. Card payments over $5,000 may be subject to a processing surcharge.
  • Tax-exempt customers. Provide your Texas resale or exemption certificate at account setup.

7. Compliance & governing law

  • All rentals are subject to the federal MUTCD and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD), current edition.
  • Customer is responsible for obtaining all necessary city, county, and TxDOT permits.
  • This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Venue for any dispute is Dallas County, Texas.
  • These terms are a summary of our standard rental agreement. The signed rental contract controls in case of any conflict.
